I hope everyone had a fun and exciting Labor Day Weekend!! I was fortunate enough to be able to spend my last weekend of Summer with my Mom, and some family friends in NYC to watch the US Open 🙂 ! If you are not familiar with the tournament, it’s the last of the “Major” tennis tournaments of the season, and it’s my only chance to go to a Major…since it’s “conveniently” located in one of my favorite cities!
I want to also say, that while I am pumped to go to New York and take in this experience..I don’t normally take off work for several days..mainly because I run a small business, and Manhattan is an hour or so flight from Raleigh.. so we book our trip to leave Saturday at 7AM (that means getting up at 3:30 AM 🙁 ), and arriving in NYC around 8 AM.
Our seats were the day session which started at 11:00 AM. We were able to see the women’s 3rd round matches, which included Serena Williams! She is such a strong player..so smart, and one step ahead. She is on top of her game! The session ended with Andy Murray, which I have never seen play live…the balls whip so fast! It really is amazing!
While you’re at the Open, I suggest trying the Grey Goose Honey Deuce Cocktail which is their Signature Drink. It’s a mix of Grey Goose Vodka, Lemonade, & Raspberry Liqueur. Honey dew melons serve as the garnish- it’s really good!
Now…On to this dress.. I have received so many compliments from everyone! Thank you! A few things. This “dress” is actually a romper! Yes..there are shorts under there! Which makes this even cuter right? It is also under $40, and comes in a blue option, hooray! One problem.. the only way in and out are by two tiny little buttons in the back, by your bra, and by your back. So, not friendly for a gal drink Honey Deuces at a tennis event. Not to worry I have linked several similar, more restroom friendly styles for you Here and Here!
The day was a whirlwind! If you ever get the chance to experience it I highly recommend it! Look for another post featuring pics from our hotel coming soon!

Laughing at the stories of your inconvenience while wearing this romper and having a couple cocktails —I I always think about the same thing! Nonetheless, this romper looks amazing on you an the color is the perfect choice. Sounds like a great trip!
